The chiropractors at Back To Natural Chiropractic focus on diagnosing and treating muscular, ligamentous and joint issues, from back and neck pain to overall misalignments of the body and spine. The doctors at Back To Natural Chiropractic use non-medicinal and non-surgical methods to help address your pain and symptoms and get you back to normal health. The human body is designed for hundreds of natural movements. However, modern life puts our body in conditions that aren't quite as natural: sitting in our cars for hours at a time, or working at a desk day after day. Chiropractic adjustments are a way to get your spine and body back to a proper position, allowing for relief of your pain and symptoms. Chiropractic adjustments also take pressure off your nervous system, which in turn allows your body to function at a higher level.
Chiropractic care is a broad umbrella for all of the services provided by chiropractors. Chiropractic is primarily used as a pain relief alternative for muscles, joints, bones, and connective tissue, such as cartilage, ligaments, and tendons. It is sometimes used in conjunction with conventional medical treatment. Most narrowly, chiropractic care refers to chiropractic manipulations, which are used to correct structural misalignments so that the muscular, skeletal, and nervous systems may function as they should. Proper alignment of the body's structure, especially the spine, will enable the body to heal itself without surgery or medication. Often, however, chiropractic manipulations are just one of many treatments that chiropractors offer. At Back to Natural Chiropractic, Drs. Sara and Stephanie also offer acupuncture, nutritional guidance, physical therapy and massage therapy.
In Illinois, chiropractors must be licensed to practice chiropractic care. Patients should first seek out a chiropractor who is both licensed in the state and board certified. Beyond these criteria, patients who are interested in a specific treatment should seek out a chiropractor who is both trained and experienced in that treatment or service, whether it’s chiropractic adjustments, acupuncture, nutrition, physical therapy or massage therapy. Finally, patients usually want a chiropractor who has an office near their work or home so that they can get to and from appointments easily.
Because chiropractors offer a host of services, there’s no one set time for appointments. Some treatments take longer than others. In general, though, most appointments take about as long as a typical doctor’s appointment. Patients who need to know specifically how long a treatment will take can ask beforehand when they are scheduling the appointment.
Additionally, almost all treatments are outpatient procedures, which means people are free to return to work or go home afterward. Many patients leave work, come to a chiropractic appointment, and return to work on the same day.
